Click the button Insert Table. A dialog to enter the table properties will open: |
In this dialog you can enter the following settings:
| Rows | Number of rows in the table |
| Columns | Number of columns in the table |
| Cell Padding | Distance between the cells |
| Cell Spacing | Distance between the border and the content of the cells |
| Width | Width of the table in percent or pixel |
| Alignment | Alignment of the table on the page |
| Border | Thickness of the table border |
| Back Color | Click the color box at the right side of the textbox to select a background color using the color dialog. Alternatively you can enter the RGB value of the color directly in the corresponding textbox. |
Here you can define the title, the alignment and the location of the table's title.
Click the button OK to create the new table.
To change the size of a table you have to select it. Square-shaped resize handles will appear at the table border:
Click one of these squares, keep the mouse button pressed and drag the table to the desired size.
As soon as you select a table or one of its contents in the Visual Style Editor, a toolbar to edit the selected table will appear:

Add a new column after the currently selected column |

Remove the selected column |

Add a new row after the currently selected row |

Remove the selected row |
 |
Change the background color of the table using the color dialog |

Search for an image to use as the table background respectively remove the selected background image |

Change the border thickness |

Change the border color of the table using the color dialog |
| Width | Width of the table in pixel (e.g.: 300) or percent (e.g.: 90%) |
| Height | Height of the table in pixel (e.g.: 200) or percent (e.g.: 100%) |
| Spacing | Distance between the cells |
| Padding | Distance between the border and the content of the cells |
As soon as you select a table cell, a toolbar to edit the selected cell will appear:
