Using the buttons section

Another very important aspect in the designing process of a webpage is the navigation. In Easy Website Pro you are offered various options concerning the navigation. For instance you may choose between CSS styled and Flash animated buttons.

A whole section of the program is dedicated only to managing and styling of buttons.

To design and manage the buttons

1. Go to the Button section of Easy Website Pro

At the left side you are provided with an overview of all the available button placeholders in the specific layout (the number of available buttons for you to use can vary in order which layout you have selected).

2. Highlight any of the available buttons (in the picture above Button #1 is selected)

I) Activate a button

Easy Website Pro layout usually contain more or less active buttons than you might need, therefore Easy Website Pro allows you to activate or deactivate single buttons. The Activation / Deactivation Procedure is simply accomplished be selecting a button and than either checking or unchecking the checkbox.

II) Apply a name

With Button #1 selected you can now change the name of the button (equals the text which is going to be displayed on the webpage). To do so simply change the text 'Button #1' to anything you like in the specified textbox For instance type: 'home' into the textbox Please Note: Now also 'Button #1' in the button overview aswell as in the preview (on the right side) changes to 'home'

III) Apply the linkage

In general a webpage is divided into several subpages (for instance home, products etc.). Buttons are used to navigate between the subpages, therefore it needs to be specified where each individual button redirects the user.

To do so, select any individual button - in our case the newly named home button and then click the button.

After clicking a new window opens up, giving you three different linkage alternatives (as shown in the picture below)

• the link to a page - simply select from the dropdown menu any page from within your project)
• the link to a URL (external page to your web project - ex. www.google.com); you can also specify if you would like the external page to open up in an all new browser window.
• the link to an email address - for instance if you want our visitors to have a possibility of contacting you, you could provide a button named 'contact' with a linkage setting of email.

IV) Choosing between CSS styled and animated Flash buttons

Easy Website Pro allows you the choice between CSS styled and Flash animated buttons, to choose between the two options, simply check the checkbox Flash (as shown in the picture bewlow)

If you decide using Flash animated buttons, you can choose from a wide variety of different styles. You can also specify the Rollover and the Rollout color of the Flash buttons aswell as a sound effect

Please Note: The default setting for the sound option is none. In the next section we are covering the creation of a content for your web project.
